Founder Roxanne gives away plants and produce through an online community group, and one day she pruned her fig tree and gave away its branches, to which the recipients said, “What do we do with this, Roxanne?” And thus, the nurturing of her fellow gardeners began…I guess you could say we really branched out. …

Abundant Garden was founded on the principles of education, sustainability, and inclusivity - which leads to an abundant community and an abundant life. Anyone can garden, they just need to know how! We pride ourselves on creating kitchen gardens anyWHERE and for anyONE, regardless of experience, access to certain resources, or mobility challenges. We hope through our work, kitchen gardening becomes an experience you can share with your family and community for years to come.

From gardening on a 6th floor rooftop in Buenos Aires to balcony gardening in New Delhi to growing herbs and produce in Australia, Qatar, Houston, and now northern Virginia….
…Roxanne has planted roots all over the world. Her love for the land all started in her grandfather’s massive quarter-acre garden way back in the day, where her family tilled and harvested together. Roxanne loves sharing her knowledge and bounty with her community, spearheading food donation organizations and gardening education opportunities throughout the northern Virginia area. She believes through shared experiences in the garden, stronger, more inclusive communities are created.
